Inert waste does not rot, leach or burn, so it goes to facilities that take nothing else and charge accordingly. Mixing it into a general skip throws that saving away and fills the skip's weight allowance at the same time.

The things people ask before booking.
For heavy inert waste, almost always. One grab load takes roughly two skips' worth in a single lift, and the material goes to an inert facility rather than a mixed one. The saving comes from both ends: fewer movements and a lower gate fee.
Contamination. A few lumps of timber, plastic sheeting or packaging in an otherwise clean load can have it reclassified as mixed at the gate, and you pay the mixed rate for the whole thing. Keep the heap clean and it stays cheap.
Say so before anything is booked. Contaminated ground has its own legal routes and its own paperwork, and it is not something to discover at a weighbridge. We will arrange the right facility and the right documentation.
Because muck away pricing lives and dies on distance to tip. Inert facilities are not evenly spread, so two sites twenty miles apart can have very different prices. Knowing the closest licensed facility to each postcode is a large part of what we do.
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest way to run a groundworks job. The same wagon that takes your spoil out brings your MOT Type 1 or crushed concrete back in, so you are not paying for an empty run in either direction.
