Because most of what you pay for is the delivery, the collection and the disposal gate fee, not the steel. Going from six yards to eight adds capacity far faster than it adds cost, so for general mixed waste the price per yard drops. That stops being true the moment the load is heavy, where weight rather than volume sets the limit.
It depends on the supplier and the vehicle, and we will give you a figure in writing with the quote. The rule of thumb: an 8 yard is sized for general mixed waste, and if what you are loading is mostly soil, rubble or concrete you want a 6 yard instead.
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to run a site. We schedule the swap before the skip is full rather than after, so you are never waiting on an empty and never paying for an overloaded one that cannot be lifted.
A standard skip lorry needs roughly 3m of width and clear overhead space to tip the skip off the back. Low branches, cables and barriers are the usual culprits. Tell us about the access when you enquire and we will match the right vehicle to it.
