Firm, level ground and room to put its outriggers down, which is a bigger footprint than people expect. Soft ground, fresh tarmac or ground with services beneath it are all worth mentioning, because they change where the machine can safely set up.
They are the first thing to check with a boom pump, and a genuine safety matter rather than a formality. If there are cables over the site or the road, tell us early: it may mean a line pump instead, and that is a decision for the planning stage rather than the morning of the pour.
